"Beerfest at the Ballpark" Coming This Spring

Baseball at the home of the Lansing Lugnuts will take a backseat for a day this spring.

Cooley Law School Stadium has announced "Beerfest at the Ballpark" on Saturday, April 5, from 1pm - 6pm.

The event will feature 24 Michigan breweries, with more than 50 craft beers, ciders and meads, along with music and food.

“We have quite a few special events planned this year and Beerfest at the Ballpark is a great way to kick start the season.” said, Nick Grueser, General Manager of the Lansing Lugnuts. “We hope everyone will come out and enjoy a great day that celebrates Michigan beer in a unique setting.”

Tickets will be available for purchase online starting Monday, February 17. They will be $30 and include entry to the event, a sampling glass and 10 sampling tickets. Advance VIP tickets will be $35 and include entry to the festival at 12pm, a sampling glass and 15 sampling tickets.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Old Newsboys, a local charity that provides shoes for kids in need.

The Lansing Lugnuts open the season on Thursday, April 3 with the Crosstown Showdown against the MSU Baseball team. Game time is set for 7:05pm. Tickets for the 2014 season are on sale now.
