Hundreds of items donated by the mid-Michigan community are now on their way to the East Coast to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

New World Flood has been collecting the donations at its office at the Marshall Street Armory since putting a call out last week. On Monday, a 26-foot trailer filled with clothes, blankets, batteries, food, toys and other supplies left for Staten Island, New York.

Because of the overwhelming support from the community, New World Flood decided to sponsor another drive to further support affected victims.

New World Flood hopes to fill a semi-truck for this second drive. Needed items include, but are not limited to: trash bags, bottled water, blankets, winter coats/hats/gloves, non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, batteries (all sizes), flashlights and work gloves. You can drop the donations off at the following locations:

Lansing Area: New World Flood Office
Located in Marshall Street Armory, 330 Marshall St., Suite 101 (drive to the back of building)
Donations accepted 10am - Noon and 3pm - 6pm

Battle Creek: Prudential Preferred Realtors
820 SW Capital Avenue, Battle Creek
Donations accepted 9am - 5pm

Kalamazoo Area: Dashworks
6125 S Westnedge, Portage
Donations accepted 9am - 5pm
