Retired Brigadier General and Community Review Team (CRT) Chairman Mike McDaniel today officially announced three public forums to collect public input associated with Board of Water of Light's (BWL) planning, preparedness, response, and recovery from the December 2013 ice storm.
The forums are scheduled for the following locations:
- Wednesday, February 5, Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Rd, East Lansing.
- Thursday, February 6, Pattengill Middle School, 626 Marshall Street, Lansing.
- Friday, February 7, Meeting Room A, Delta Township Hall, 7710 W Saginaw Hwy, Lansing. (Attendees are asked to use the doors on the west side of the building.)
All three forums will begin at 7 p.m.
"We're encouraging members of the community to attend these sessions and share with us not just their experiences with the ice storm, but their meaningful suggestions as to how the BWL response should have been handled," McDaniel said. "We are aware that other public forums have been previously held, but we would to hear from the community for ourselves, rather than relying on secondhand reports."
ABOUT THE CRT - The CRT is a 9-member panel comprised solely of volunteers appointed by retired Brigadier General Mike McDaniel. The mission of the CRT is to conduct an independent, objective, and transparent review of the BWL's planning, preparation, response, and recovery prior to, during and after this devastating storm event. The intention of the CRT is to complete its comprehensive review by March 31, 2014.
