BAY CITY, Mich. (AP) -- The U.S. Coast Guard says it rescued two men whose snowmobiles crashed through the ice about a mile from shore on Saginaw Bay near Bay City.
The Coast Guard says in a statement that other members of the men's party called Bay County's 911 center from the scene Saturday night. The statement says an air boat from the Coast Guard's Essexville station arrived about 9:45 p.m.
The Coast Guard says the 19- and 45-year-old men managed to pull themselves back onto the ice by the time the air boat arrived. It says they were taken to a hospital for treatment of hypothermia.
The men's names weren't released.
