CHARLOTTE - Police now have a name for the man accused of robbing the 5th Third bank in Charlotte Wednesday. Charlotte Police Chief Lisa Sherman says that Carl Fredrick Kieffer a 49-year-old man is the suspect in the October 9th bank robbery. Sherman says that fingerprints left by the bank robber indicate Kieffer.
Sherman says they tracked the name to an address in Spokane, Washington, but police there did not find indications that he had actually lived there.
Kieffer is suspected in bank robberies in Ohio, as well as Illinois and Wyoming.
Kieffer is 6'3" tall, with brown hair, weighing about 180 pounds.
Police say he may be driving a newer model Pontiac G6, 4-door, black in color, with a small square white sticker in upper left side of back window.
During the bank robberies the suspect indicates he has a gun, but none has been seen. Still police consider Kieffer armed and dangerous.
