General Motors is adding 824,000 vehicles to its ignition switch recall.
The automaker will have to replace the ignition switch on 2008 to 2011 models of the Chevrolet Cobalt, HHR, Pontiac G5, Solstice, Saturn Ion, and Saturn Sky.
GM says bad switches, sold to dealers and aftermarket wholesalers, may have been used to repair the vehicles.
Friday's recall is an expansion from one last month, where more than 1.6 million vehicles were recalled. At least 12 deaths have been linked to these faulty ignition switches.
