Auburn Hills based Recaro is recalling nearly 40,000 of it's ProSPORT Child Safety Seats because a child's head would not be secure enough in a crash.
The recall involves the ProSPORT Model 385 car seats made form June, 2010 through January, 2013.
Recaro says a child's head could move too much, when parents rely on the latch belt only and do not use the top tether. The company has issued a letter to customers with a repair kit. It includes a new instruction manual and a label to remind users to properly restrain the child.
