DUNDEE, Mich. (AP) -- A 3 1/2-year-old boy in southeastern Michigan has died after accidentally shooting himself in the head.
Dundee police say Damon Holbrook picked up a loaded gun that belonged to a man who was staying in the home. He was pronounced dead Sunday at a hospital in Ann Arbor.
Sgt. Tom Redmond says a man returned from work and left the gun on the floor of a bedroom closet. The man's name hasn't been released. He's in jail on a charge of manslaughter with gross negligence. He's due in court Monday.
Redmond says there were three other children in the house and two more adults.
Dundee is in Monroe County, 50 miles southwest of Detroit.
