Two proposals could be placed on the Nov. ballot Thursday when the State Board of Canvassers meets.
The first would raise the minimum wage to $10.10 per hour, but there's a catch. The proposal would amend a law that no longer exists. The legislature repealed the old minimum wage law when it passed a bill raising it to $9.25 per hour earlier this year. The courts may ultimately have to settle that fight. Opponents claim to have evidence there are enough duplicate and ineligible signatures to keep the issue off the ballot either way.
The second proposal is part of the long-running fight over hunting wolves in Michigan. This proposal is designed to override another proposal banning wolf hunts.
WILX will have a crew at the meeting and we'll tell you what the board decides Thursday night on News 10.
