Exactly one week until Christmas Eve, and the folks over at Fedex will be working around the clock making sure all those holiday packages arrive in time for Christmas. Yesterday was their busiest shipping day. Millions of packages were processed to be delivered today. Some of the ones headed to Mid-Michigan families will travel down this conveyor belt and onto trucks to be delivered today. The shipping giant expects to ship some 21-million packages this holiday season. All packages sent by December 23rd are guaranteed to arrive by Christmas. but Fedex recommends people not wait until the last minute to send gifts. Fedex has hired an additional 20-thousand seasonal workers to handle the volume
The Fedex station in Lansing expected to begin processing packages at around 7:15 this morning, but because of weather issues in their hubs, Memphis and Indianapolis, They are delayed until 8:15. They say all packages that need to be delivered will make it out today, despite the delay.
