Biggest Box Office Hits of 2012

2012 was a big year for movies, with some giant hits for Hollywood studios bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars. Topping the list was Marve'ls The Avengers" which made more than $620 million dollars in domestic ticket sales.

Comic book superheroes were particularly successful, with three of the top ten entries. The Hunger Games was a top performer, with the first film adaptation of the wildly popular young adult book series. The James Bond and Twilight franchises also did well with their latest entries.
