BWL Shows Off Solar Array Expansion

LANSING -- The Lansing Board of Water and Light is showing off its newly expanded solar array on Cedar Street

It has now added 385 panels, which will triple its capacity, enough to power 80 homes on a sunny day.

"Five megawatts of power would make it the largest solar installation of any kind in the state and actually five times larger than the next largest solar installation," says BWL General Manager Peter Lark.

The BWL will start buying power from a wind farm near Ithaca soon.
