WORTH TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say an 18-year-old suburban Detroit man has died after falling off a raft in southern Lake Huron.
The Sanilac County sheriff's department says Ikechukwu Onwuzurike of Oakland County's West Bloomfield Township was reported missing on Tuesday afternoon and likely drowned in the waters off of Worth Township, about 70 miles northeast of Detroit.
Rescue crews from the sheriff's department, a local fire department and the U.S. Coast Guard are among those who responded, searching by boat and aircraft.
The sheriff's department says Onwuzurike was pulled from the water by divers about three hours after he was reported missing and was pronounced dead at the scene. He wasn't wearing a life jacket.
