LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Attorneys representing Donald Sterling and his estranged wife will appear before a judge tasked with determining whether Shelly Sterling is able to sell the Los Angeles Clippers without her husband's consent.

The judge is set to determine Monday if the terms of the family trust that owns the Clippers are all that should be used to determine if Donald Sterling was properly removed as trustee.

Shelly Sterling struck a deal to sell the team to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for $2 billion after Donald Sterling's racist remarks were publicized and the NBA moved to oust him as owner.

Two doctors examined the 80-year-old Sterling in May and declared him mentally incapacitated.

His attorneys say the examinations were fraudulently attained and he should be able to call his own experts.
