A man suspected of robbing someone at knife point Saturday afternoon got up to speeds of 100 miles an hour while trying to outrun police.

Sgt. Tim O'Neill with the Ingham County Sheriff's Office tells News 10 it started with an armed robbery at a car dealership in Jackson shortly before 3pm Saturday.

Officers from Ingham County and surrounding areas set up on US 127 to catch the suspect, who got off the highway at Holt Road. They attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver ignored them and led officers on a chase with speeds of more than 100 miles an hour.

The suspect attempted to go north on Every Road in Mason, but lost control and slid into a ditch, getting stuck in the snow. An officer pulled in behind him and the suspect got out and surrendered.

He is expected to be charged with armed robbery in Jackson and fleeing and eluding in Ingham County. There could be additional charges.
