The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says hunters can apply for antlerless deer licenses through Aug 15.
They can seek a quota-limited license online, at any authorized license agent or at a DNR Customer Service Center. A nonrefundable $4 fee is charged. Hunters may apply only for a single public-land or private-land license.
Beginning Sept. 5, applicants can go online to check their drawing results and see how many licenses remain available.
Hunters ages 9 to 16 can buy one junior antlerless deer license over the counter through Aug. 15. No application is required.
About 554,000 antlerless deer licenses are available statewide for the 2013 deer seasons, down from about 709,000 last year. License quotas for individual deer management units can be found on the DNR website.
