Thanks to the July 4th Holiday fireworks shows, Ingham County's Animal Shelter is packed to capacity.
Ashley Hayes blames the pops and booms of fireworks for the extra animals found wandering around the county. She says it's typical for the shelter to become full following the holiday.
Hayes says the shelter can house about 100 cats and 100 dogs. As of Thursday afternoon, there are extra animals out back, waiting for their owners to come claim them.
Animals that are not claimed will be put up for adoption.
