Researchers have found a blood test that ..could.. predict the chance a person will develop Alzheimer's disease.
The new study out of Georgetown University Medical Center identified ten blood fats that signal when brain cells are starting to degenerate.
They compared the blood test results from forty people diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, to forty control subjects, and found the test was able to correctly identify those with memory problems ninety percent of the time.
Researchers not affiliated with the study say the results are intriguing, but larger studies are needed and a commercial test won't be available for years.
