Jackie Dale McConnell, 47, is being held in a Conover, North Carolina jail cell awaiting his return to Michigan.

Police tracked the Albion man to North Carolina, as part of their investigation into the disappearance of Donna Jean Frost, 42, also of Albion. Frost was reported missing on Monday, January 20.

A tip lead officers to a pit in the 2800 block of F Drive S in Albion Township. There, Frost's body was found buried beneath scrap wood.

Albion police say Frost was McConnell's girlfriend. They believe she was killed at McConnell's house in the 200 block of South Eaton in Albion.

Albion Police Chief Scott Kipp say McConnell has waived extradition and will be returned to face charges in Frost's death.
