Accident Shuts Down Saginaw in East Lansing

An accident in East Lansing forces police to shut down Saginaq between Abbott and Harrison.

Police say a vehicle went off the road, hitting a power pole at high speed, snapping the pole in half and leaving wires all over the road. The pole has fallen on top of the wires.

One passenger was thrown from the car, but the other two people inside were not seriously hurt.

Power is out in the area. The Lansing Board of Water and Light says 3,100 customers are without power.

It is expected that Saginaw will be without power for at least two hours.
