ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) -- A Massachusetts-based real estate development company plans to build an outlet mall near Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
New England Development of Newton, Massachusetts, said Wednesday that Outlets of Michigan is expected to open in Romulus in 2016. The company says plans for the 75-store, open-air center call for pedestrian concourses and architecture inspired by the Detroit area.
The company's properties include outlet centers in West Palm Beach, Florida, and Asheville, North Carolina. Others are planned for Little Rock, Arkansas, and near Des Moines, Iowa.
