AAA Michigan keeps busy helping stuck motorists

DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) -- AAA Michigan says it's hearing from a lot of motorists seeking help after a storm dumped heavy snow across a wide portion of the state.

Spokeswoman Nancy Cain says the auto club assisted about 1,000 motorists as of about 9 a.m. Monday, including many in southeastern Michigan.

Cain says spinouts, dead batteries and fender-benders are keeping crews on the go. She says snow and cold weather have kept AAA Michigan "very busy" since New Year's Day. Last week, the state was hit last week by up to about a foot of snow in places.
