AAA Mich.: Gas Prices Fall 27 Cents Over Past Week

By  |

DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) -- AAA Michigan says gasoline prices have fallen about 27 cents during the past week to a statewide average of about $3.95 per gallon.

The auto club says Monday the average is about 17 cents per gallon more than this time last year.

Issues at several Midwest refineries had driven up prices in recent weeks, and AAA Michigan says prices likely will continue to decline.

Of the cities it surveys, AAA Michigan says the cheapest price for self-serve unleaded fuel is in the Flint area, where it's about $3.88 a gallon. The highest average is in the Benton Harbor, Saginaw and Bay City areas at about $3.97 a gallon.
