Vice President Campaigns in Michigan

Vice President Dick Cheney lashed out at Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry saying the senator's views on foreign policy fail to reflect the realities of a world combating terrorism and that his domestic agenda is a throwback to years better forgotten.

Speaking to a crowd of about 700 at a Republican National Committee rally at an Oakland County high school, Cheney said the United States needs a leader that will not vacillate on the issues.

“These are not times for leaders who shift in the political winds, saying one thing one day and another the next. Our country requires strong and consistent leadership,” overseas and at home, he said.
