Michigan State University along with Lansing Schools received a grant of $2.3 million to help educators teach science.

The grant from the National Science Foundation will inject approximately $460,000 into Lansing schools for the next five years.

The grant will allow teachers to share education ideas with each other and learn more effective science teaching skills.

Lansing officials hope the grant will eventually improve MEAP performance. Their class of 2001 fell 10 percent below the state average according to the Michigan Department of Treasury.
