Mike Wylie, assistant manager of Student Book Store near the MSU campus, says they've been getting ready for the return of students this fall since April.
In preparation for what Wylie calls 'book rush' next week, they've brought in 22 new cash registers, will have close to 100 staff members working and have 90-percent more book stock than during the summer.
The East Lansing Police Department is also getting ready for the 40,000 plus that will be on the MSU campus. They will be stepping up patrols, having more officers on the street and communicating with students the best ways to stay out of trouble.
Move-in day for Michigan State freshmen is next Wednesday.
