Two Grand Rapids teens say they have set a new world record for uninterrupted television viewing.
Sixteen-year-old Chris Dean and 17-year-old Mike Dudek logged 52 consecutive hours of viewing time by the time they ended their feat Wednesday evening.
They surpassed the Guinness World Records mark of 50 hours and seven minutes by nearly two hours.
The teens will ask the Guinness people for confirmation that they set a world record.
Dean and Dudek set up their television inside an International House of Pancakes restaurant.
They were required to remain awake with their eyes always on the TV screen.
The teenagers were given five-minute breaks every hour and 15-minute restroom breaks every eight hours.
