A Lansing company has received government approval to test a new anthrax vaccine on humans.
BioPort, which is the nation's only anthrax vaccine supplier, has already conducted tests on humans.
But the Lansing-based company asked the US Food and Drug Administration if it could test the vaccine with an added immune-stimulating molecule.
The molecule could potentially reduce the number of doses necessary.
BioPort's research will be funded by the US Department of Defense.
