Lansing & E. Lansing Brainstorm Over Rentals

By  |

The city of Lansing and E. Lansing met to exchange strategies about how to stabilize their neighborhoods and rental properties. Lansing considers E. Lansing a template for success in the matter and is reviewing their policy.

Lansing council member Carol Wood says she's received various complaints about one bedrooms turned into rental properties for as many as six individuals.

There are many differences between the current rental polices and the tow cities, for instance, E. Lansing inspects their rental properties annually and Lansing inspects most buildings every two years.

The meeting is the first step if Lansing wishes to alter its rental licensing and policies.
