MSU Starts Football Season

Thousands of people celebrated the start of football season with tailgate parties as MSU challenged Eastern Michigan University.

Some families brought entire turkeys and fresh salmon to cook on their grills. Others cooked burgers and hot dogs. Several people were partying as early as 8:00 am.

Officials say the stadium sold out all 72,000 football tickets. One hundred police officers controlled traffic, officials said things went smoothly.
