East Lansing Superintendent Introduction

By  |

The East Lansing Schools introduced its new superintendent, Dr. David Chapin. Chapin replaces Dr. Thomas Giblin. The school board voted not to renew Dr. Giblin’s contract September 8th.

Dr. Chapin said there are a lot of issues to tackle at the district but chooses to not dwell on any negative ones in the past and looks forward to the future.

Chapin says he’ll use that same positive approach to work with the teachers in the district. Some educators there call past relations with the administrators -- strained.

The teachers are in the process of arbitrating a work contract that began in 2003.
