Low-Carb Vitamins

Now that millions of American are going low-carb, many manufacturers are cashing in with all kinds of low-carb products. Many health experts say taking a multivitamin is necessary if you're on a low-carb diet. They say these dieters do not get enough of the nutrients found in fruits, vegetables and grains.

But are the "low-carb vitamins" any better than regular multivitamins? Gana Wilson, a nutritionist at the Better Health Store, says there is not much a difference. She says taking a regular multivitamin will be sufficient. She also says many of the companies are also coming out with essential oil supplements and enzymes. The enzymes are said to help break down fat and protein. However, other experts that we talked to say there is no scientific evidence that they actually work.

Wilson says fiber supplements are also necessary for those cutting down on fruits and vegetables.
