When something goes wrong in your home you fix it, but for some the repairs aren't so easy. So, a Christian based group headquartered in Colorado is lending a helping hand.
Group Work Camps is in mid-Michigan this week painting, scraping, sawing and digging free for those who need it. Approximately four hundred people, the majority of them kids ages 12 and up, are working on 49 homes on Lansing's northside.
The projects are partially funded by a local developer who works with the group. Kevin Heuer, project coordinator, says the group puts on about 60 camps each summer; each volunteer pays $400 a piece and works for five days. This is the second time in three years the group has repaired homes in mid-Michigan.
