Gov. Jennifer Granholm will lead the Michigan delegation to the Democratic National Convention, and she is hoping a labor dispute will not inhibit the delegation’s participation. The Boston police are on strike and have been picketing the convention center where the convention will be held.
When asked if she would cross a picket line, the governor says she does not anticipate have to do that because she hopes the strike will be settled now that it has gone to binding arbitration. She concedes a picket line would pose a public relations problem for the Michigan contingency, which is heavily dominated by labor.
