UPDATE: Shooting Victim Crashes by High School
Suspect arrested Wednesday evening.

A man wounded in a shooting crashes his car in front of Lansing's Eastern High School this afternoon. A Lansing School District spokesperson says that no students were involved, and that students were not allowed to leave their classrooms, while police investigated.
Lansing police took the suspect into custody Wednesday evening. He'll be arraigned within 48 hours.
Lansing police tell News 10 they that a shooting took place in the vicinity of Walsh Street and Dakin Street, several blocks south of the high school. They believe the shooter and the victim were in separate cars, when one driver shot the other multiple times. The shooter drove away. The wounded driver drove north on Pennsylvania Avenue and eventually crashed his car into another vehicle parked outside the front of the high school. A school spokesperson says no students were in the struck car. There is no word yet on the seriousness of the injuries to the passengers of the car or the victim of the shooting.
Police are still seaching for the shooter. They believe he is driving a green or gray sedan with a paper temporary license plate in the window.
The school lockdown remained in effect until the normal end of the school day at approximately 2:30PM. An automated phone message was sent to parents explaining the situation.
