Northwest Airline Problems

Around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday a Northwest facility near Minneapolis, MN experienced a power outage. That outage caused a computer glitch Northwest's system sparking a chain event which result in the grounding of more than 100 flights around the country and delaying countless others.

At Lansing's Capital City Airport, stranded travelers spent much of the day trying to figure out why their flights were being delayed or cancelled. By mid-afternoon Northwest flights were in the air, but with severe delays.

By 8 p.m., Capital City Airport officials said to the best of their knowledge Northwest was back on schedule and on time, although many travelers around the country, as well as mid-Michigan, had missed their connecting flights in cities like Detroit.
