Toyota and Federal investigators are casting doubts on the story of a California driver who said he lost control of his Toyota Prius.
Last Monday, James Sikes called 911 and said he lost control of his Prius Hybrid on a San Diego highway and that the car had reached speeds of 94 miles per hour.
According to a memo obtained by the associated press on Saturday, investigators with the federal government and Toyota examined and test drove the car and were unable to duplicate the problems Sikes said he encountered.
A spokesman for California representative Darrel Issa says the findings raise questions about the credibility of Sike's story.
