While driving home to Mesick from a concert in Lansing, Andrew Warren came across a car in a ditch along US 127. He stopped to see if the driver needed help. What he got in return shocked him.
Armed with a shotgun, Daniel Freshney emerged from the car and pointed it directly at Warren. According to Warren, Freshney pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire. Warren then ran to his car while Fresney screamed for him to 'get away,' and then fired up to eight more shots at oncoming traffic.
Warren fled in his car and dialed 911.
Fresney is expected to be arraigned on several charges, including attempted murder, next week. Freshney says he was not taking prescribed medications and believed Lansing was under and 'invasion.'
