Lansing Man Facing Additional Charges in Connection with Shooting Spree

Daniel Lynn Freshney, 38, of Lansing faces 18 felony counts in Clinton County after allegedly going on a shooting spree in mid-Michigan Tuesday night. Now, he faces four more charges in Ingham County.

Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III announced Thursday that he is charging Freshney with two counts of assault with intent to commit murder and two counts of felony firearm charges. Those charges are for the shootings in East Lansing near the Trowbridge exit and in Lansing Township near Lake Lansing Road. Dunnings says he will also push for charging Freshney as a habitual offender, which could make his sentence longer if he is convicted.

Freshney is currently being held in Clinton County, but Dunnings says he will be arraigned in Ingham County in the next few days.
