The state Democratic Party wants republicans to stop helping Ralph Nader get on the ballot.
The state democratic party says the state GOP is helping gather petition signatures to help independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader get on the ballot in Michigan.
Mark Brewer calls the effort "unethical" and designed to help defeat John Kerry in Michigan next November.
Greg McNeilly, executive director of the state GOP, confirms the party is involved in the effort and says that it is not unethical or illegal. "This is all about giving the voters a choice," he says.
Asked if the effort was designed to help President Bush win in Michigan, McNeilly replied, "Absolutely."
