Common Ground's Economic Impact

By  |

Hundreds of workers continued to set up stages, tents, and fences for Monday's opening of Common Ground at Adado Riverfront Park. The Greater Lansing Convention and Visitor's Bureau reported last year's festival brought an estimated $5 million into the city of Lansing.

Festival organizers say with a little help from Mother Nature, if they have a good festival again this year, even more revenue could be brought into the city.

Organizers say the festival has come a long way since it first started five years ago. They owe the growing success to their staff and volunteers, a broader marketing strategy and a great line up of artists.
