Jackson police questioned and released a man who was spotted on the roof of a church.

Officers caught up with the man near the First Congregations Church at the intersection of Jackson and Pearl Streets just before midnight on Monday night.

The man is on probation for breaking and entering. He told officers he was just "goofing around" on the roof.

There was not enough evidence of any wrongdoing to bring charges, but his probation has been notified.
