JCC Facing Cuts, Tuition Hikes

Jackson Community College's Board of Trustees has approved cutting several programs and increasing tuition in order to meet the school's $30 million budget for the 2004/2005 academic year.

Among the cuts are closing the Johnson Downtown Center, The Lenawee Flight Center and discontinuing the school's subsidiary of the Dahlem Environmental Education Center.

The board also approved hiking tuition 2.3 percent for in-district students and seven percent for out of district students.
