East Lansing High School students say it was an end of the year joke, but school officials and police aren't laughing.
Early Friday morning, someone attempted to drive a car into one of the school's buildings. A security guard noticed headlights and kids in the parking lot, but by that time the damage was done.
According to East Lansing High School Principal Paula Steele, $1,500 worth of damage. Steele says, she hasn't seen vandalism like this before. The car got hung up on a steel door outside of a weight room near the gym.
Police are investigating the incident and say if the estimated damage is correct, those responsible could be facing criminal charges.
