For Felix Pastrana Christmas day is all about others.
"I don't think I gained anything but I helped people and it's a feeling you can't buy," said Pastrana.
He joine the some 200 Mid-Michigan Volunteers of America to deliver more than 400 meals to people on Christmas.
"I've taken so much in some shape, form or fashion throughout my whole life that I feel that giving back is a blessing," said Pastrana.
Volunteers lined up early for turkey and all the trimmings to deliver it to those in need.
"It's just a wonderful experience. Every year we know we're making 400 to 500 people have a better holiday," said John Hoekje, the coordinator of the event.
Volunteers worked all morning to feed hundreds and for many it's a long tradition of holiday giving.
"There is no other thing to do today than give and share with others. My family had been doing it for years," said volunteer Daphanie Childs.
"This is a family tradition. We've been doing it for about 20 years," said volunteer John Haglund.
Pastrana says he plans to spend as much of his day as possible out volunteering.
"I have one more meal to drop off to a lady who just asked me. I'll go back and get a meal but I don't mind doing it because that's what it's all about it. It's about giving," said Pastrana.
That would be his third trip back to the housing complex but he says it's all worth it.
