The Michigan Court of Appeals has upheld a lower court ruling ending the parental rights of a woman imprisoned for murdering her seven-year-old adopted son.
Lisa Holland is serving a life sentence in the 2005 death of Ricky Holland of Williamston.
The boy's father said his wife struck Ricky in the head with a hammer and he later dumped the body in the rural game area. Tim Holland is serving a 30- to 50-year sentence for second-degree murder.
In an opinion released today, the court said Lisa Holland has caused emotional harm to the couple's four other children, who had been living with her husband's family.
Three of the children were Ricky's biological siblings and had been adopted by the Hollands. The other daughter was born to the couple.
Tim Holland voluntarily gave up his parental rights last year.
