Family members of veterans and active military personnel have a new place to stay thanks to General Motors.

The VFW National Home for Children dedicated a new duplex Thursday. It was built with some of the $3.5 million dollars donated by General Motors during a Memorial Day fundraiser last year. One hundred dollars from the sale of every Buick, Pontiac and GMC was donated to the National Home.

General Motors donated another $1 million to the National Home at the dedication Thursday. Patrice Green, Executive Director of the VFW National Home for Children says it, along with the remainder of the last donation, will be used for program development.

Two families will move into the duplex this summer.
