Former Jackson Area High School Teacher Arrested for Allegedly Targeting Teens On-Line

Adam Goodrow was arrested Friday on Detroit's eastside after allegedly arranging a meeting for sex. Police say the former Northwest High School teacher is suspected of using the Internet to target teenage girls.

Wayne County investigators say the 29-year-old father of two had been chatting on-line for more than a week before arranging a meeting with a person he thought was a 13-year-old girl. When the Jackson man arrived at the shopping center in Detroit, officers arrested him.

The person Goodrow had been chatting with was an internet crime unit officer from Wayne County. Officers say he had sexual materials with him when he arrived to meet the person he thought was an underage girl.

Goodrow had been a math teacher at Northwest High School up until a year ago when his certification ran out. Police say he's been substitute teaching in the Jackson area since being let go from his full time teaching position.

Goodrow is free on bond and will be back in court next week. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison and automatic placement on the state's sex offender registry.
