On the verge of a new era with a new superintendent, the Lansing School District is turning to staff, students, parents, even community members, to gather the data and the facts about what's working and what's not.
A 41-question survey online called "Keys to Excellence for Your Schools" covers everything from communication to curriculum. It was created by the National Education Assocation, and geared especially toward staff who have their eyes and ears in the building.
For parents, it's a chance to air some gripes and to narrow the focus on what needs improvement.
The new superintendent, T.C. Wallace, will have access to the data immediately when he takes his position in July.
The survey will be available online at keysonline.org through May 25.
It's available in English and Spanish.
