A Haslett man admits he killed his wife to keep her from finding out he'd been lying about their finances.
Donald Holmes pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, felony firearm and income tax evasion today.
He'll be at least 91 years old before he's eligible for parole.
Holmes shot and killed his wife Catherine in the parking lot of the "MSU Federal Credit Union" in Meridian Township on October 20 of last year.
He admits she was about to find out that he'd been lying about their finances and they had no savings or retirement funds.
The IRS had put a lien on their house because Holmes refused to pay state and federal income taxes.
